Nu grew up in the village in Samoa, where sports were a central part of his daily life. He spent his childhood playing volleyball, rugby, and cricket, but it was volleyball that truly captured his heart. After moving to Canada, he continued to pursue his passion for the sport, competing in numerous leagues and tournaments at a high level. Through these experiences, he built lasting friendships and became deeply connected to the volleyball community. Driven by a desire to share his love for the game, he transitioned into coaching. For over a decade now, he has had the privilege of mentoring young athletes, helping them grow, not only in skill but also in character. Many of the teams that he has coached have reached Division 1 competition, and he takes pride in raising the level of play wherever he goes.

To him, coaching is about more than just technique and strategy—it’s about life. It’s about teaching resilience, teamwork, and how to face challenges with confidence and grace. Creating a positive, joyful, and unified team culture is something he deeply values — one that includes and encourages strong relationships between athletes, parents, and coaches alike. Volleyball has given him so much, and he is passionate about passing those lessons on to the next generation. He can’t wait to lead this group!
